SOUTHLAND HOCKEY ASSOCIATION REGISTRATION REFUND POLICY

 

All players withdrawing from Southland Hockey Association (SHA) after registering will have their fees refunded in proportion to the time they give notice that they are withdrawing from Southland Hockey. Commitment to ice and the payment of fixed fees are required at certain times of the hockey season. As a result, Southland cannot pay 100% refunds.

Policy

1.       Players registered in the SHA requesting a refund must make that request in writing.

2.       If at the end of the evaluation process there is not a position on a team for a player due to an excess or shortage of players a full refund will be provided with no reduction for ice times or administration fees.

3.       Players who have been suspended by either the SHA or HCAL will not be entitled to a refund.

4.       Any player withdrawing after January 1st of the current season for any reason will not be entitled to a refund.

5.       Amounts to be refunded are determined as follows:

·         Withdraws made prior to the start of evaluations will receive fees paid, less a $75 administration fee.

·         Withdraws made after the commencement of evaluations, but prior to the start of the seeding round will receive 75% of the fees paid, less a $75 administration fee.

·         Withdraws made during the seeding round or prior to the start of the regular season will receive 50% of the fees paid, less a $75 administration fee.

·         Late registration charges are not refundable.

  Procedure

·         The request must be sent via e-mail to the Registrar at registrars@southlandhockey.com; Treasurer at treasurer@southlandhockey.com and the appropriate Age Category Coordinator.  All requests must include the following information:

1.       Player Name and Age Level

2.       Reason for withdrawal

3.       Amount of fee paid (base registration fees)

4.       Name and mailing address of registrant requesting refund

·          In the case of a refund due to injury or illness, a doctor’s certificate maybe required.

·         The refund, payable by cheque, will be mailed within 30 days after the request has been made.
